Karachi Electricity Supply Corporation (KESC)

In 2005, Dao Aljomaih led the acquisition of Karachi Electric Supply Corporation, one of the largest power utilities in Pakistan, in conjunction with National Industries Holdings (NIH). Karachi Electric is engaged in the generation and distribution of 1750 MW electricity to industrial, commercial, agricultural and residential customers in Karachi and several other regions of Pakistan - an area totaling some 6,000 km2. The company is now majority owned by KES Power Limited (a holding company is owned 15 percent by Aljomaih) with the Government of Pakistan and other local investors as minority share holders.

Karachi Electric plans to expand capacity by adding modern, more energyefficient generation units at its thermal power stations. Aljomaih heads the new Board of Directors and is actively involved in a dynamic program to enhance customer service, improve supply reliability, and strengthen the environmental, health and safety management systems.
